DATA TALENT launches its new website and Data Hub

BRISBANE, QLD — Data Talent, the first dedicated Data and BI (Business Intelligence) talent sourcing company in Australia, has just been launched. It aims to draw interest from the best data professionals by creating a vibrant information and news hub on the BI, Data Warehousing and Big Data space.

Both Hudson and Gartner reports suggest there is going to be a worldwide shortage of skilled professionals that can tackle big data projects, an area which is growing exponentially. A Gartner study estimated that by 2015, 4.4 million IT jobs globally will be created to support Big Data, but only a third of these jobs will be able to be filled. Both in Australia and overseas, data experts will become a scarce, valuable commodity.

Data Talent’s hub is the brainchild of Gino Lancaster, an IT recruiter with digital marketing and brand design experience. Mr Lancaster says, “we’re not just here to recruit people, it’s about sharing topical and relevant information and building a community of our very own — not on LinkedIn or another channel”.

“It’s the way of the future for recruiters” says Lancaster of this type of hub, as recruitment agencies increasingly find it tough to compete with internal recruiters who access the same job boards and network sites.
